About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

The AR Team at Google is building the future of immersive computing. Through our development of ARCore we enable augmented reality experiences on hundreds of millions of devices, but we are not stopping there. We are working on really cool, cutting edge technologies enabling the next generation of immersive devices.

As a System Technical Program Manager, you will be managing complex scope projects from initial builds though ramp, driving consensus in resolving complex issues during bring-up, and interacting with different external vendors, Google engineering teams, and manufacturers for ensuring technical readiness for the product.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Drive overall program execution, unblocking roadblocks, handling issues independently, and ensure transparent reporting of progress to leadership.
  • Break the program down into executable units, appropriately scheduled to ensure optimized resource loading across the team, and on time delivery of commitments.
  • Drive consensus across the team on topics such as architectural direction, performance key performance indicators, timelines, and more through the life of the product
  • Build positive relationships, and trust, over time through on-time delivery of commitments, high quality, great communication, continuous innovation, and by exceeding expectations.
  • Develop scalable tools, processes, and services to optimize performance, while improving execution velocity and efficiency. Bring order and identify what needs to get done in an ambiguous, fluid environment.
