Smith+Nephew is developing Augmented Reality solutions for operating room to work in conjunction with its existing and products in Surgical Robotics and Orthopedics. We are looking for an individual with a consistent track record of fast-failure/fast-success development to push the forefront of AR in the OR.

Your Duties
  • Prototype and build next generation high performance AR products in Unreal/Unity3D/C#/C++
  • Rapidly iterate in smart glasses application development (Android)
  • Work closely with the robotics development team to concept and iterate on product ideas
  • Build with the latest mixed reality hardware (HoloLens2, Magic Leap, NReal)

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience

Required Skills
  • 3D graphics programming expertise with Unity, Unreal, OpenGL, DirectX or similar
  • 2+ years of experience with C/C++/C#/Objective C or Java
  • Proven Android development experience
  • Outstanding attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative
  • Experience with 3D tracking and video processing
  • Passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences
  • Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
  • Proven Augmented/Virtual Reality development expertise
  • User interface and rapid prototyping experience
  • Passion for changing lives through innovation

Strongly Desired
  • Deep knowledge of Unity3D and C#
  • Experience with surgical navigation technologies
  • Experience with OpenCV
  • Experience with Kinect, Leap Motion, Gesture recognition
  • Experience with Hololens, Google Glass or Magic Leap headsets
  • Understanding of computer vision algorithms, spatial mapping, shaders
  • Strong versatility tinkering with various emerging technologies

Travel: <10% (All travel is limited per S+N COVID travel policy)
