AltspaceVR is the leading platform for live mixed reality experiences, offering cross-device live immersive virtual experiences using Microsoft’s Mixed Reality technologies (HoloLens, Holocapture, Azure Kinect) to emulate presence and connection, while building and fostering community. Responsibilities
- Develop an audio strategy and execution plan to provide the best virtual event sound experience for concerts and live music in VR, to include offering stereo and spatial audio
- Determine the features and functionality necessary to improve audio fidelity of our networked/streaming communications solutions
- Work with the engineering team to develop a plan to integrate real-life acoustics into the AltspaceVR
- Work with the engineering team on additional audio features cone attenuation for voice to provide directionality, as well as crowd reactions
- Continue to improve and evolve AltspaceVR’s sound capabilities
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ year(s) experience or equivalent in Audio programming, or equivalent career
- 2+ year(s) experience or equivalent with Unity 3D and C#
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding the technical audio constraints regarding audio implementation of XR & PC to understand dependencies
- Strong cross-discipline collaboration skills
- Great communication, written and verbal
- Experience in AR or VR is a bonus
- Experience with other game engines like Unreal is a bonus
- Experience working with VOIP solutions
- Understanding in digital audio and voice data management
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
