The Tryer Center is a 20,000 square-foot innovation facility at Starbucks Support Center dedicated to fueling faster and deeper innovation at Starbucks. Managers lead cross-functional teams from idea to action in 100 days. It is a dynamic environment for Starbucks partners to think, build and test, fueled by collaboration and transparency. Ideal Tryer team members will thrive in an entrepreneurial culture and be able to work across all functions at Starbucks. Tryer team members are results oriented with a high bias for action and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

As an Innovation Manager II, XR/VR, you will be a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about innovation and is technologically-savvy with a strong understanding of Starbucks retail operations and training. This role contributes to the success of Starbucks and Tryer by incubating and leading a new XR platform initiating focus on training for store partners. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven servant leader who is passionate about collaboration and shares credit liberally with an insatiable curiosity leading to creativity. They will also be purpose-driven to make a bigger impact in Starbucks and beyond while thriving in ambiguity and finding integrative solutions.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the incubation, development and execution of next generation Tryer XR/VR platform initially focused on immersive training for store partners.
  • Lead development of Tryer XR content management systems, analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee all research, design and delivery of custom software applications
  • Oversee and manage Tryer XR budget to inform long-term strategy and pipeline generation
  • Lead multi-functional teams to develop long-term strategy and business case for XR training and other future applications.
  • Develop communications strategy and plans internally and externally to ensure successful adoption.
  • Support additional Tryer projects and workstreams as needed.
  • Apply TRYER practices in human-centered design or other related methodologies and actively contribute to improving the practices of the entire team.
We’d Love To Hear From People With
  • 7-10+ years of product/project leadership in a cross-functional environment. Functional experience in technology, product marketing, digital, or retail operations is also highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion, enhancing team success, facilitation and thought-leadership. Program management and influencing others are key aspects of your work.
  • Possess a strong bias-for-action and growth mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively and are skilled at driving advocacy at all levels
  • Experience leveraging relationships to create genuine connection and influence
