Must-haves

  • BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry development with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python programming.
  • Experience with software development, including the ability to debug and extend code in existing projects.
  • Strong communication skills, good organization and working with minimum supervision.
  • Experience with creating tests, problem solving and debugging issues.
  • Hands-on experience with developing and building camera or depth sensor test setup.

 

Plusses

  • Experience with bringing up prototype to mass production.
  • Experience with programming mechanical automation systems such as linear rails, motion stages or robots
  • Knowledge of 3D sensor characterization methods and techniques
  • Familiarity with opto-mechanical suppliers and ability to design and create test setups.
  • Experience with Imatest or other image quality software.

 

Day-to-Day

Insight Global is looking for a Test Engineer to work with one of the largest leading technology companies in the world based in Mountain View, CA. This engineer will be part of the VR organization that brings people across the world together through next generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. The Sensors team is looking for a Test engineer who has experience setting up hardware and software test suite for 2D and 3D sensors. The engineer will spend 50%+ of the time in the lab building up new tests and executing camera calibration and characterization. This individual will also be responsible for using and supporting the development of existing software tools to collect, process data and summarize results. He/she will also write code to interface to devices used in the lab to help automate manual data collection flow. (Devices include lights, Motors, Robot etc. and interface to these devices typically include Serial Port or Ethernet). This engineer will also create documentations for the code written for testing and automation, camera calibration and characterization. In addition, identify and purchase lab equipment, create and setup hardware test fixtures and work closely with the team to resolve software and hardware problems. Lastly, this individual will perform module and system level failure analysis and report findings to the team.
