  • Be responsible for hardware architecture and design of new concepts and technologies
  • Actively participate in concept development and design ideation of cutting edge technologies
  • Research and design low-power circuits and systems to measure biopotential signals
  • Test and debug PCB circuits in a lab environment
  • Propose novel low-noise analog circuits to improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of sensing circuits
  • Verify the proposed analog circuit architectures through simulation, prototyping, and testing
  • Debug noise interference issues to improve signal quality
  • Improve sensor’s signal robustness under widely varying conditions
  • Draft and file patents to protect IPs discovered in research for measuring robust and low-noise signals
  • Work with key silicon vendors to optimize our solution and bring new solutions from prototype to market
  • Work closely with mechanical, manufacturing, science, and software teams to design hardware with the ultimate goal of mass production
  • Work with PCB vendors and contract manufacturers to improve PCB fabrication and product assembly yield
  • Perform testing and data collection in support of hardware technology and machine-learning algorithm development
  • Utilize these prototypes and development platforms to prove and sell concepts through establishing end-user value to development teams and leadership
  • Mentor and guide team members to improve everything from product quality to team culture
  • Employer will accept a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field and at least 2 years of work experience in job offered or in a Computer Hardware Engineering-related occupation. Experience must include 6 months of experience in each of the following:
  • PCB design of low-power low-noise analog circuits for biometric sensing
  • Design experience with Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-flex PCBs in Altium or OrCAD software
  • Simulation and modeling of analog and mixed-signal circuits for low-power low-noise applications
  • Working with patent lawyers to file patents
  • Development and bring-up of wearable consumer devices
  • Biometric signal acquisition system architecture for lower power MCUs (Micro Controller Unit)
  • End-to-end enabling, design, and deployment cycle of a product
  • Python for data processing.
