At Bose, we are currently looking to provide a 6-month Co-op opportunity for joining us in the Applied Research wing of the Consumer Electronics side of the company. This person will be putting together concepts from the brainstorming and UX all the way through development and publishing for internal usage and testing of our concept. These concepts are already being validated and will likely end in the hands of our millions of customers.
Bose has been a pioneer in audio technology on different fronts and we are looking for someone with mobile development experience to come and help us keep pushing forward and bringing the future closer through the creation of experiences and prototypes. Responsibilities
Develop, iterate, and share prototypes from scratch using Swift and XCode.
Research third-party tools or similar projects currently in development or already published.
Try and evaluate technologies that we could use as a reference or as leverage.
Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to create and polish concepts.
Suggest, pitch, and analyze ideas that could impact the features of the product roadmap.
Help with basic DSP work to manipulate audio scenes.
Minimum Qualification
Experience Creating a Whole Prototype From Conceptualization To Release.
Strong software development background experience creating software for mobile devices for 2+ years (preferably iOS).
Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design and data structures.
Intimate experience with several iOS SDKs such as UIKit, Core Animation, AVFoundation & Core Graphics.
Experience using non-Apple libraries, e.g. AlamoFire, Moya, RxSwift, Realm or other open-source libraries.
Comfortable using GitHub source control.
Preferred Qualification
Audio DSP Experience is highly appreciated.
Experience and interest in software development rapid prototyping events (e.g., hackathons, game jams).
A keen eye for UI and UX.
Experience with Bluetooth and BLE.
Experience with Audio technology.
Familiarity with Unity3D.
Experience having published software for an app market (App Store or Play Store).
