The AR/VR team at Client is helping more people around the world come together and connect through world-class Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality hardware and software. With global departments dedicated to AR/VR Research, Computer Vision, Haptics, and Social Interaction. We are committed to driving the state of the art forward, through relentless innovation.


We are looking for an experienced Look Development Artist with a focus on Digital Humans and Grooming. You will work in a small multi-disciplinary team composed of other artists, engineers and research scientists, exploring and pushing the limits of realistic avatars for AR/VR.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate photorealistic look-dev, and refine textures, shading graphs and procedures for a diverse population of human faces.
  • Generate new hair grooms for this diverse population of faces.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience producing high-end character assets for the movie industry.
  • Previous experience performing look-dev tasks.
  • Solid understanding of physically-based rendering techniques and anything related to skin/hair rendering.
  • Has a broad understanding of modern shading models.
  • Has a deep understanding of human face modeling.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks.
  • Exhibits excellent listening and communication skills, able to receive direction and criticism.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with real-world lighting and photography.
  • Ability to pick-up new techniques and ability to learn new software quickly and easily.
  • Ability to work with and expand the usability of new research software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with some high level shading languages (RSL, OSL, HLSL), Maya Python/PyMEL, Python or C.
  • Experience with high end production grooming tasks and tools (such as Xgen).
