Minimum qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, another relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: new product introduction, manufacturing, or operations engineering
  • Experience across all phases of product development from prototype to mass production
  • Experience leading cross-functionally and managing multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in the consumer technology market working with global and cross-functional internal and external teams
  • Experience launching Consumer Hardware products in one or more manufacturing models - Contract Manufacturing (CM), Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM), Original Device Manufacturing (ODM) and Original Equipment

About The Job

The Chrome Open Screen team owns the entire cast experience on Chrome. We are responsible for casting and multiscreen features that bring Chrome and the web to TV, an open source implementation of Chromecast for Apps and streaming devices that minimizes discrepancies so that it can run on a wider range of products, augmented and virtual reality in Chrome via WebXR, and Chrome Desktop capture. Our vision is to make the web platform the open preferred and universally supported tech for building TV/Consumer Electronics applications, allowing these apps to share media freely, and providing the best experience possible. As a Software Engineering Manager on the Chrome team, you will manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your team. Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for WebXR and Content Capture, growing your expertise around this area, developing new features, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Build and grow a high-performing diverse team of engineers, creating opportunities for technical leadership growth of team members building on their individual strengths.
  • Drive the execution of day to day operations and help with long-term goal setting and follow through.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
