Facebook Reality Labs is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most, enjoy top notch wire-free VR, and push the future of computing platforms. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software and content. Facebook Reality Labs team is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and implement software for these devices and platforms. This person will be an integral member of the team, responsible for embedded software design and optimization with a concentration on connectivity and wireless SW stacks for Bluetooth and UWB (Ultra-Wideband). This person will also be involved in developing solid testing platforms while working on a variety of domains to enable new experiences for augmented reality, virtual reality and social/family products.

Responsibilities
  • Work on new connectivity/wireless software stacks (Bluetooth and UWB) to shape the future of these technologies.
  • Work with the existing connectivity/wireless software stacks (Bluetooth and UWB) to improve and meet product needs.
  • Implement automated certification, functional, and compatibility testing.
  • Troubleshoot root-cause issues reported by QA and customer feedback in wireless domains (Bluetooth and UWB).
  • Resolve issues and create new features in the connectivity space (Bluetooth and UWB).
  • Provide support to QA, manufacturing, and other software teams.
Minimum Qualification
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, Masters or a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineering, or Related Field.
  • Experience in Java, C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Bluetooth or UWB.
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Interpersonal Experience: Cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with Automated Testing.
  • Experience with Fluoride/Bluedroid, Bluez, NimBLE, Bluetopia or other Bluetooth Protocol Stack.
  • Experience with Fine Ranging or Car Connectivity Consortium.
  • Experience with Core Bluetooth for iOS or Bluetooth APIs in Android/AOSP.
  • Experience with Wireless Protocol Analyzers.
