The Facebook Reality Labs Research Audio Team is looking for an Audio Test Lead to help bring cutting edge virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences and hardware to life through collaboration and commitment. In our Research & Advanced Development projects, we are setting out to fundamentally transform how people interact with sound; bringing these experiences to the daily lives of billions of people. To make this possible, we need a well-rounded team that nurtures kinship, fosters good communication, and is sympathetic to the challenges in these diverse domains.In this role, you will be cooperating with other engineers and researchers to define and develop acoustic and low power test strategies, methodologies, and frameworks. You will be collaborating and contributing at a deeply technical level and guiding efforts of team members who will be supporting you, including vendors and manufacturing partners. Your work will enable the optimization of acoustics with regards to the size, weight, and power performance needed for the future of AR/VR wearable devices. Responsibilities
- Define overall test strategies, recommend/evaluate/evolve test fixture HW/SW designs, as well as test equipment and qualification processes
- Define and develop acoustic and low power tests, requirements, methodologies, implementation, and optimization of setup/processes through multiple prototyping development phases
- Lead internal and vendor test teams through POC/DOE experiments, maturing in to deployable test HW/SW solutions
- Collaborate with Research Scientists, Research Engineers, and Product Development Engineers to establish performance metrics for research technologies from low to high maturity
Minimum Qualification
- BS degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in advanced consumer electronic product development and manufacturing
- Experience with acoustic data acquisition equipment (NI DAQ, Audio Precision, Soundcheck, etc.)
- Experience in test development and frameworks enabling measurable test coverage metrics and data analytics
- Experience leading groups of engineers and technicians in their daily work
- Experience with manufacturing test data collection systems and infrastructure
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with module test and manufacturing processes with direct experience managing manufacturing test implementation and execution
- Experience with design for six sigma, inclusive of structure problem solving approach, design experimentation and optimization (DOE), root cause and defect/failure analysis, FMEA, FEA, reliability testing, statistical data analysis, manufacturing process knowledge (MSA/GRR)
- Experience with Scripting, Automated Testing Tools, Reporting, Unit Test, In-circuit Test, and Functional Test Fixture Electrical Design
