The Fundamentals team is part of the Facebook Reality Labs organization at Facebook, responsible for developing hardware products and the software platforms that run on them — and defining the roadmap for the organization.As a Software Engineer on the Facebook Reality Labs Security Engineering team, you'll be a part of a groundbreaking team to ensure users and developers are safe and delighted with their experiences across our platforms, devices, companion apps, app ecosystem, and more. The ideal candidate will share our passion for engineering solutions that make privacy easy, improve user trust and internal data clarity.You'll have the chance to work with many teams (e.g. product development, infrastructure, automation, research, production engineering, legal, policy) across Facebook Reality Labs and Facebook. We have the opportunity to leverage Facebook's infrastructure, which allows us to drive this in a scalable, reliable, and quick manner and provides unique opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems that enhance the security of Facebook Reality Labs’ products and infrastructure
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Provide security guidance to new projects, initiatives and partner teams
• Code in some combination of C, C++, Rust, Java, and Python depending on the task
• Work cross-functionally to enhance and develop secure solutions for consumer AR/VR devices
  

Minimum Qualification

• 5+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience developing and implementing security features and solutions
• Technical depth in at least one of the following areas: microarchitecture exploit and mitigation implementations, hypervisors and trusted execution environments, code authentication from boot chain of trust through runtime verification, practical system penetration mechanisms and mitigations, sandboxing processes, applied cryptography, developing low-level operating system components (e.g. AOSP, Windows, Linux, QNX), or application of developer tooling at scale to harden code
• Experience building systems and processes in cross-functional environments
• Experience designing and implementing security-enhancing features in customer-facing systems
• Experience advocating for technical security solutions across functional domains
  

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality technologies
• Experience demonstrating exploits on real-world systems
• Experience finding vulnerabilities at scale with developer tooling (e.g. fuzzing, static analysis)
• Experience patching exploits in fielded products
• BS or more advanced degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience
• Experience working on MDM and remote management software
