AltspaceVR is the leading platform for live mixed reality experiences, offering cross-device live immersive virtual experiences using Microsoft’s Mixed Reality technologies (HoloLens, Holocapture, Azure Kinect) to emulate presence and connection, while building and fostering community. The experiences and technologies that AltspaceVR will enable needs to meet or exceed users’ privacy, accessibility, ethics, and security expectations. To satisfy these needs, we are looking for a Compliance Program Manager who will partner with engineering teams that create products, services, applications, and platform functionality to promote transparency and achieve compliant solutions.
Responsibilities
The individual filling this position will:
- Evangelize privacy, accessibility, ethics, and security principles including better integration in the development cycle.
- Conduct technical reviews for products, services, and communications; document reviews and ensure all relevant information is accounted for to help ensure compliance with audit-level requirements.
- Evaluate features, UI, and functionality to identify and mitigate any compliance-impacting concerns.
- Ensure products, services, and communications comply with corporate compliance standards, as well as other legal requirements.
- Partner as necessary with feature teams to develop customized solutions; engage with other compliance and legal teams as necessary.
- Identify and drive escalations to the compliance teams, CELA, and executive management as necessary.

- Deep knowledge and passion for end user trust and safety, and the ability to learn quickly and apply learnings throughout the organization.
- Ability to apply good judgement to risk assessment.
- Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to drive initiatives across organizations.
- Ability to develop and track quality measures, metrics, and/or KPIs.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to dive into technical details of features to deliver privacy requirements and innovations.
- A passion for deeply understanding customers.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ of experience in a regulatory or technical role (Program Manager, Software Engineer or related).
- 1+ years' of experience with privacy regulations and policies.
- 3+ years’ of experience effectively work across different product teams and orgs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Privacy Certification (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) preferred.
- Previous experience as part of a feature crew/team and ownership of functional specifications/plans preferred.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
