This leadership role will manage a growing portfolio of accessory products from Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) from initial concept to mass production. You will lead a direct team of Operations Program Managers and coordinate a large indirect team across engineering, operations and FRL’s manufacturing partners.This role is part of a business in FRL focused on the rapid development and execution of accessory products through a combination of in-house development teams and external JDM/ODM partners.The focus will be on bringing the best consumer products to market by managing key aspects of product design readiness, manufacturing/supply chain readiness, product quality and cost. Product types and complexity in this group span from soft goods and cases to more complex audio, power, virtual reality, and controller products.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with program management, product management, and hardware engineering teams (comprised of industrial design, soft goods, mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers) in developing accessory products from concept to production
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability, and cost by coordinating with teams in early concept exploration
  • Structure engagements with partners that help meet our launch date, volume, cost, quality, cosmetic standards, reliability, and social responsibility goals
  • Set cost targets and manage risks for each program with engineering, operations, and finance teams - including program bill-of-material, CapEx, and manufacturing costs
  • Collaborate with external executive peers to drive supplier activities and ensure our supplier network supports our product and portfolio requirements
  • Own product ramp plans and inventory commitments to ensure successful product launches. Work with demand and supply planning, product marketing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure product launch and availability goals are met
  • Evaluate development or licensing partnership opportunities
  • Travel to meet with OEMs, ODMs, contract manufacturers, and startups that may be partner candidates for AR/VR accessories
  • Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the AR/VR supply chain
  • Lead program execution to Product Development Process phase gates
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s in engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience bringing high volume electronics products to market
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in ambiguous environments
  • Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost, & Delivery)
  • Background driving China-based manufacturers, remotely and in-person
Preferred Qualification
  • Advanced Engineering degree and/or MBA
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
