In the Facebook Reality Labs organization, we're building devices and experiences that make people feel closer. This includes Oculus, Portal, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) products and experiences, as well as research and development labs. We’re looking for an experienced Integrated Communications Strategy Lead to build and lead a team of strategists working on consumer experiences for emerging products in AR, Oculus, and Portal in our international markets of priority. Specifically, the FRL Integrated Communications Strategy Lead will partner closely with Brand Planning, Marcom, Creative, Retail, Partnerships and Product Marketing to fully realize an omni-channel market approach. This requires an ability to lead an effective cross-functional process for developing integrated, omni-channel media plans. This role also requires deep analytical rigor and a deep understanding of consumer and market dynamics, which will help determine the right mix of brand and product knowledge to deliver effective marketing plans that breakthrough in culture. This person will need to empower a team to walk in step with internal and external creative partners during planning, creative ideation, and executional phases. The right person can lead both integrated media touchpoint strategy, media planning, hands-on execution, effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners, and establish operational excellence to maximize impact across the team. Key drivers of success in this role will include deep experience in communications strategy and planning, connecting audiences for engagement. Demonstrated organization and planning skills to manage content and channel calendars to ensure alignment with strategy and priorities. Experience with various communications channels, including digital, print, email, social and which channel is best for different messaging objectives. A proven communicator able to manage and influence multifaceted communications projects. An ability to create, implement and measure a comprehensive strategy across multiple media types. Collaboration with project teams, translating insights to plan to action. A dedicated abstract thinker, trend hunter and pattern seeker. This role requires a curious mind to develop insight into human behavior. Must have an instinct for popular culture and a nuanced understanding of creative work, a strong command of most forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, and great presentation skills and ability to lead large teams in brainstorming sessions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of all international campaigns supporting Facebook Reality Labs, ensuring that campaigns align with the global strategy, business objectives, incorporate industry innovation, measurement and leverage appropriate channels across both digital and traditional
  • Partner with our Media Martech Lead and Operations Lead to develop audience tools and tech bespoke to our needs internationally
  • Manage a high performing team and act as a player-coach with regional Integrated Communications Strategy Managers when appropriate
  • Stay apprised of industry standards, new media programs/opportunities and advise on new ways to reach targets
  • Align with the central Communications Planning & Media Investment Center of Excellence team to create and implement global best practices, media investment plans, channel strategies and joint business partnerships with strategic partners
  • Lead the conversation regarding optimal media measurement in international markets in partnership with Marketing Data Science and Marketing Insights
  • Drive macro learning agendas aligned to business priorities in our key markets. Help international ICS Managers develop campaign performance metrics/KPIs that ladder to macro business goals
  • Build relationships and ensure alignment across the global Facebook media team, including but not limited to: Global Consumer Marketing, FRL ICS Product Leads and Facebook Sales and Partnerships teams
  • Build cross-functional relationships across the international and central marketing teams, Decision Science, Insights, Creative and relevant agency teams
  • Regular travel to regional offices as needed
Minimum Qualification
  • 12+ years of experience developing and leading integrated communications strategies, media plans and campaign execution
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Global media experience especially markets within EMEA, APAC, and NA
  • Knowledge of current trends and innovation in media, tracking, analytics and research and distillation of macro principles vs regional/local nuance
  • Experience with planning and executing consumer media campaigns across multiple markets and audiences
  • Experience making cohesive consumer communications campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as MRI, comScore, Nielsen
  • Proven track-record displaying thought-leadership and influence
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience working within a team in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience pulling runs from MRI, Kantar or Simmons
  • Experience building a thorough competitive analysis
  • Experience working directly with a creative team to guide channel best practices
