At Facebook AR/VR Hardware, we’re developing the future of wearable, portal, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products. As a Display Driver Engineer, you will be a member of our Display Hardware Team, taking a lead in display driver design to set the technical goals, lead the development of leading edge technologies, and working with the current and evolving ecosystem to provide differentiating capabilities to our HW platforms. You will be part of a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of the innovation for FB HW products (AR/VR, portal etc.).
Responsibilities
- Lead the display driver IC (DDIC) design, validation and integration to display module and final system production, display IP development
- Documentation of high level DDIC functional requirements, specification and validation checklist as well as procedure
- Analysis pros/cons of VR graphics IPs and high bandwidth display interface, and propose a direction of optimum design
- Work closely with external display driver IC, panel and module vendors throughout the design and engineering validation phases
- Work with internal cross functional teams to define data interface and graphics requirement for VR application, and to finalize functional setting for panel requirement and system integration
- Work with supply chain teams in display module and component vendor evaluation and selection
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Minimum Qualification
- BS or MS in electrical engineering or relevant major with 8+ years of working experience or equivalent work experience
- Experience with understanding sub structure of display panel driving from input to output
- Experience with electrical measurement
- Experience with various high speed display interface like MiPi and eDP
- Experience with SPI and I2C interfaces
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with design and validation for driver IC, TCON or similar graphics silicon
- Experience with FPGA platform setup and programing
- Experience with display high speed SerDes and analog design
- Experience with mixed signal IC design, fabrication and validation procedure
- Experience with display driver IC supply chain
- Experience with driving complicated cross-functional projects
