System Administrator (Maynard, MA)

Position Overview
Oversee the day-to-day IT functions of the company, including:
- Operation of the VPN
- License management for internally used commercial software (e.g. Adobe, Autodesk, Intuit, Salesforce.com, etc.)
- Procurement and support of computers and mobile devices for employees (predominantly Mac’s, iPads, with some Windows devices.)
- Manage company computer hardware and software inventory
- Support local and remote team members with their computers and corporate IT access
- Manage company IT back-up and disaster recovery plan
- Manage company key-card security system
Manage corporate internet access relationships:
- Manage and interact with ISP’s for support and service
- Manage and interact with VoIP provider for support and service
Manage and interact with facilities team for local power and other critical IT support functions
Provide support to employees to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues
Provision test or rental equipment for customers (e.g. iPads, VR devices, PC’s)
Location: Maynard, MA (this is primarily an on-site position with some flexibility for part-time remote work)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Kaon customer emergency line/email and liaison follow-up with appropriate Kaon employees
- Collaborate with Kaon dept. managers to standardize position computer requirements, ordering process and back-up
- Troubleshoot user IT issues on an as-needed basis - at the Kaon office or in the field (for remote employees)
- Onboard new employees with necessary computer hardware equipment, software, email accounts (Google Workspace), etc
- Propose and manage upgrades and operational improvements to corporate IT systems
Required Core Skills
- Knowledge of common IT toolsets (e.g. Office, Google Docs, Remote Desktop, Google Workspace, Salesforce, DropBox)
- Understanding of LAN technology, such as switches, routers, WiFi, and VPN
- Deep knowledge of, and troubleshooting skills on Mac, Windows, Android and iOS operating systems and hardware

Experience
- 3-5 years of IT Support and system administration
- Experience working in a small organization where people operate without a great deal of corporate oversight/structure but are responsible for outcomes
