What You Will Do
The NURSE EDUCATOR – CLINICAL SIMULATION SME position provides clinical expertise with the design, development, and implementation of virtual reality applications in support of the product management and product development teams. The position requires a passion for collaboration, love for technology and an innovative mindset.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for and provides clinical consultation, education and support related to the design, development and implementation of VR training programs including the development of clinical scenarios and scripts
- Provide detailed feedback on medical accuracy and likely reactions to the functionality of VR applications including:
- Look and layout of VR environments
- Tools and devices in the environments
- Logical flow of simulation
- Believability of the voiceover
- Assists with the maintenance of records and the requirements of national accrediting
- agencies for the offering and distribution of requirements to distribute continuing
- education credits. Maintains requirements to provide and distribute CE credits,
- Participates in the management of clinical partnerships, development partners, advisory
- boards and Subject Matter Experts
- Performs the role of primary nurse planner as required for accredited learning activities,
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel (<25%) to customer sites in support of VR
- implementation,
- Serves as clinical resource through team-based initiatives, grant researching and other
- identified opportunities,
- May include other duties that are supplementary to the role.
Qualifications
- Minimum three to five years in healthcare / clinical setting at an academic medical center,
- Minimum of 3 years acute/critical care clinical experience within the past 5 years,
- Obstetric, Perioperative and/or Emergency Department clinical experience preferred
- Minimum 3 year’s clinical education experience as clinical educator in an acute care
- setting or academic setting,
- Experience working with professional associations, clinical experts, and task forces a
- plus,
- Experience with designing, instructing, or implementing simulation-based learning
- Computer skills: Strong computer skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook),
- Cognitive skills: Ability to apply judgment to prioritize work, ability to understand, follow,
- and recall instructions, excellent analytical and global skills as well as excellent written
- and verbal communication skills,
- Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must demonstrate: a professional work ethic;
- flexibility; strong interpersonal skills; and promote team building relationships with peers, hospital and Public Safety leaders, physicians, clinical staff, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master’s Degree preferred
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification or willingness to complete
- within first year of employment
- Valid Nursing license
- Experience with and certification to provide: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS),
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS),
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Experience a plus
