Description


Reporting to Manger, VCS and working closely with the VCS/RSVP team, the Virtual Production Specialist is responsible for operation of the AR and Virtual Set projects as contracted by RSVP. Upon the contract agreement, the Specialist will be responsible for logistical project management including setting up gear, testing and Faxing the setup, and operation of the Virtual Position during the production. The Specialist will work with and coordinate with all freelance personnel that are hired on the same productions by RSVP. The Specialist also will be responsible for implementation and QC of various production content, including some design related tasks. Virtual set and AR content optimization and needed workflow configuration.


This position is a combination of design and content implementation for real-time rendering as well as live-production execution. A thorough understanding of the Unreal game engine and broadcast workflows is required. Knowledge and or familiarity with virtual productions and Ross Video's products used to support virtual productions preferred. The Specialist will be required to travel to support other Rocket Surgery initiatives and major tradeshow demonstrations as needed.



Duties and Responsibilities:


Responsible for execution of and/or participation in activities related to virtual design and AR productions, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the RSVP team to setup production planning
  • 2D / 3D design and artwork implementation
  • Travel to and from productions as needed
  • Work with shippers to have Ross Video gear shipped to and from Production locales
  • Help maintain AR production gear as needed
  • Work with Clients onsite to creatively make each production the best it can be
  • Engage clients to develop collaborative relationships to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in trade show planning and execution
  • Work with the RSVP Team and Virtual Solutions departments on product roadmaps, development priorities, product direction, and new products – based on industry and customer trends
  • Help maintain and support the RSVP workflow and back-up priorities. ​


Qualifications


  • Unreal Game engine experience preferred but not required.
  • Ross XPression experience preferred but not required.
  • Virtual Production experience desired – thorough understanding of Augmented Reality, Virtual Set, and Mixed -Reality production techniques, especially those using Epic Unreal Engine.
  • Understanding of Camera/Lens calibration for virtual production - usage of virtual tracking protocols ie FreeD, Stype, etc.
  • Blueprint setup/construction and C++ experience helpful
  • Knowledge of material construction and Lighting techniques in UE
  • Experience with 3D design packages ie Cinema 4D, Maya, 3DS, etc
  • Familiarity with LED/XR/Mixed-Reality production techniques a huge plus
  • Active passport with the ability to travel across Europe, Middle East, and APAC if needed
  • Post-secondary degree or trade school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and very detail orientated
  • Self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Able to work co-operatively with and across all company departments
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe creative suite
  • Proficient with MS Office including Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of broadcast graphics workflows
  • Solid knowledge of broadcast/film production
  • Basic knowledge of IT workflows
