Job Summary

A AR/VR Hardware Test Engineer is needed for an American social media conglomerate corporation in the Redmond, WA area. You will join an agile team that is laser-focused on incubating winning prototypes, establishing new process capabilities with supply-chain partners, and releasing product sub-systems that are fully hardened for high-volume manufacturing (HVM). This position will have responsibilities for NTI and NPI test development and bridge to sustaining support for production.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, deploy and validate advanced test stations involving illumination sources (LED, lasers, lamps, etc.), motorized stages, and a variety of optical elements (lenses, diffractive gratings, mirrors, etc.) and accompanying software infrastructure for AR/VR products, both internally and externally
  • Work with internal and external team to design and manufacture custom test fixtures and develop imaging/data processing script/algorithm
  • Provide written documentation of procedures, setups, and experimental results with strong attention to detail
  • Own the standardization and optimization of the test processes to enhance quality and operational efficiency in production
  • Collaboratively drive to close potential test gaps and correlations issues
Key Qualifications
  • Master/Ph.D. in relevant engineering disciplines with backgrounds in optical system design and metrology
  • Strong knowledge in measurement system analysis and production control processes, GR&R interpretation, Cp/Cpk and correlation analysis; ability to present and communicate results clearly and effectively
  • strong Matlab/Python programming skills on digital image processing and data analysis
  • Consistent track record (3+ years of experience) in delivering complex test solution for laser/display/camera from NPI to mass production, preferably in a high volume consumer electronics environment
  • Hands-on experience in testing equipment bring-up, qualification, throughput optimization and troubleshooting
  • Ability to travel to the APAC manufacturing sites to work face to face with the local test/quality engineering teams
