Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) focuses on delivering Facebook's vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Virtual and Augmented Reality require custom silicon. Facebook Silicon team is driving the state-of-the-art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable AR & VR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistor, through architecture, firmware, and algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead a team including architects, digital design, verification, and firmware engineers.
- Collaborate with SoC, FW, HL-OS, SW, IP Teams, and Product Security community to drive roadmaps.
- Collaborate with the Pervasive IP and SOC Design teams to implement the proper security and privacy safeguards in the IPs and SOCs infrastructure elements.
- Deliver security and privacy IP titles to internal/external SoC teams to support the program execution.
- Drive the analysis of threat models for the Accelerator IPs and Pervasive IPs and their integration at SOC level and provide recommendations for the proper protection and monitoring of critical assets.
- Contribute the silicon in the Security Federation cross functional in FRL.
- Represent Privacy and Security perspective as applied to products and their impact on experiences with stakeholders and leadership.
- Balance support for existing programs against the need to drive roadmaps forward for greater future impact.
- Grow team and leaders, while determining appropriate structure and managing resource sharing.
Minimum Qualification
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience or Masters with 6+ years of experience or PhD with 3+ years of experience in an engineering field.
- Experience managing a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Qualification
- Embedded cryptographic engines architecture and/or design experience.
- Understanding HW threat vectors, Root of Trust, Content Access Management, Authentication and Attestation, secure booting processes.
- Familiarity with the concept of secure enclaves and TrustZone/Trusted Execution Environments.
- Familiarity with biometrics for security.
- Familiarity with Privacy Aware Computing.
- Experience designing on-chip power controllers.
- Understanding on-chip interface protocols (ARM AMBA, OCP).
