In Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), we're building the next generation of devices and experiences that make people feel closer. This includes Oculus and Portal products, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) software and content, and research and development labs. FRL Brand Design team solves bigger strategic problems for the business and our brands using design as a strategic tool and drives the design evolution and execution of our FRL brands. The main focus areas are 1) bringing Brand Strategies to life, 2) building scalable design systems, platforms and programs and 3) designing consistent, meaningful, and innovative brand experiences. We are currently seeking a Creative Director, Digital to partner with designers, writers, producers, engineers, technologists, and marketers to lead the work for our future e-commerce needs - from building new experiences to leading their further development - as well as expand to our digital/experiential work in our Direct-To-Consumer retail program. This person must have a strong background in design & creative direction for digital channels and experiences (digital agency or in-house digital design team) with a strong, focused experience in digital communications, content development and experience design. This person should also be a highly strategic thinker with a proven track record for leading efforts to deliver across complex web, e-commerce and other technology driven digital experiences. The Creative Director, Digital will work in partnership with marketing creatives and brand designers to lead and develop the overall digital customer experiences and product launches in our digital channels. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned creative leader who can balance business goals and performance while delivering best-in-class creative. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, semi-structured and collaborative environment is critical. This person must be comfortable guiding teams, freelancers, agencies, and production partners, but should be willing to roll up the sleeves and get hands-on when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the work for our future e-commerce needs - from building new experiences to leading their further development - as well as expand to our digital/experiential work in our Direct-To-Consumer retail program
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Development, Sales/Retail etc.) to develop effective and innovative digital solutions
  • Lead agencies as well as manage, mentor and grow the team working on e-commerce and Direct-To-Consumer
Minimum Qualification
  • 10+ years experience delivering creative work across a variety of digital touch points, from mobile to desktop and from social to responsive e-commerce
  • Experience delivering complex web, e-commerce and other technology driven digital experiences
  • Proven understanding and skills in creative storytelling, art direction, user experience, motion, and marketing - from launch campaigns to performance marketing
  • Experience balancing strategy and design, always advocating for the end-user
  • Experience leading and managing both in-house and/or external teams. Experience providing clear creative direction, career path guidance and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on budget and schedule
  • Experience as a collaborator - willing to shape ideas as well as build on the ideas of others
  • Presentation skills and communication experience with all levels of an organization, both internal and client-facing
