Sr. Instructional Design Consultant (6-month Contract) - 100% Virtual

We are working with a client with an immediate need for an Instructional Designer with a XR/VR/MR expertise to create a training program for a robotic medical instrument used by surgeons. The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree in Instructional Design or Learning Technology and have experience with XR/VR/MR.

Additional requirements include:

• Ability to balance the instructional design aspect with the interactions of mixed reality
• A firm grasp of best the present ways to present information within digital immersion
• An understanding of brain science and memory as it relates to adult learning
• Experience with Unity software is a huge plus
• Experience designing learning for XR/VR/MR environments
• Experience designing skills based XR/VR/MR training
• Ability to work well with the engineering team and research scientists who are developing the course
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Not afraid to ask questions
• Travel (2-3 brief trips) will be required to learn about the robotic equipment.

Start Date: ASAP.

Duration: 6 months (with possible extensions)

Hours Per Week: Part-time (~20 hours per week October through December 2021 and full time (~40 hour per week) January through April

Location: 100% virtual with some travel
