The Mixed Reality Platform team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to add to our team to design, implement, and validate the next generation of platforms, APIs, middleware, and tools for Mixed Reality developers. These empower first- and third-party developers to make awesome experiences with Microsoft HoloLens and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement powerful, efficient, and intuitive APIs and tools for developers to create Mixed Reality applications
  • Enable apps to perceive and understand human interactions, objects, space, and surfaces in the world around them
  • Abstract Mixed Reality platform functionality across several device form factors though implementing APIs such as OpenXR
  • Improve and maintain the codebase that powers holograms on HoloLens and Windows Mixed Reality headsets
  • Integrate core platform functionality with Azure services and their cross-platform SDKs
  • Solve ambiguous and challenging technical problems with wide scope
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ industry experience in Software Engineering
  • 1+ years' experience writing performance critical code in C/C++
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ industry experience in Software Engineering
  • C/C++ experience in mobile applications
  • Experience with low-latency data transmission over wireless networks
  • Operating system development experience in Windows, Linux or Android
  • Full OS stack experience working on a large codebase from driver to UX
  • Experience with engineering systems supporting cross-platform development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
