Facebook Reality Labs is a world leader in the design of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems. Come work alongside technology visionaries and research scientists to create the technology that makes VR and AR pervasive and universal. The Cameras & Sensors (C&S) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across the whole AR, VR & Portal product portfolios. We are looking for an Image Sensor FPGA Lead that will partner with a team of professionals covering the complete CMOS image sensor lifecycle in human perception and machine perception imaging. As an Image Sensor FPGA Lead Engineer will lead the prototyping activities of the image sensors especially focusing on the ISP and computer vision. Their work scope will span semi-custom sensors, fully custom sensors, and advanced sensor technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop methodologies and processes for hardware simulations (FPGA, emulation).
- RTL development and testing for FPGA targets/platforms to support rapid prototyping.
- Direct contingent/contract design and test resources.
- Assist with algorithm analysis, verification and improvement.
- Collaborate in a team environment across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Develop component and system level performance specifications.
Minimum Qualification
- BS Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or Computer Science (CS) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of FPGA design experience with Xilinx FPGA parts and Vivado design tools
- Experience with at least 1 hardware description language (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog)
- Experience with commercial HDL simulators (Xcelium/Incisive, ModelSim/Questa, VCS, or Riviera)
- Experience with board level testing (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Experience communicating cross-functionally and drive external design house/supplier
Preferred Qualification
- Master’s degree in EE, CE or CS or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of FPGA design experience with Xilinx FPGA parts and Vivado design tools
- Experience with SystemVerilog and coding skills
- Experience with verification environments/methodologies
- Experience with streaming video protocols (MIPI, AXI-Stream, etc.)
- Experience with memory mapped bus interfaces (PCIe, AXI4-Stream, AHB, etc.)
- Experience with FPGA emulation platforms (HAPS, ZeBu, etc.)
- Experience with C/C++
- Experience with scripting in TCL and Python
- Understanding of Machine learning models and FPGA implementation of the models for different tracking applications
