We encourage a strong sense of ownership and embrace the ambiguity that comes with working on the frontiers of new technology.We are seeking a Platforms and Integrations Software Engineering Lead for a new product we are developing: the Global Historical Archive (GHA). GHA’s vision is to enable people to defy distance and engage with heritage sites around the world in VR. We’re building our first team of SWE’s and you'll have the opportunity to lead in defining, deploying, and owning our long-term engineering strategies.As a Lead SWE focused on platforms and integrations, you will define and lead functional development and operations across our stack. You’ll work with a global team of builders that care about helping people everywhere to connect with heritage. You’ll have the opportunity to build and lead engineering foundations, experiment with and deploy state-of-the-art software, lead through launches, own engineering partnerships, and join on a mission to help people defy distance and engage with global heritage.
Responsibilities
- Lead Technology Opportunities: learn constantly with teammates and dive into new opportunities (SDKs, tools, etc.) which could be converted into positive results for our audiences and team.
- Build Across Tech Stacks: design, integrate, test, and deploy software in the XR space and other technology stacks.
- Be A Partnerships Leader: coordinate with global teammates across disciplines to align on strategy, scale our work, and more. You’ll step into an existing network of global builders and have the opportunity to expand our partnerships.
- Learning as a Core Value: educate cross-disciplinary teammates about software best practices, welcome the same from teammates in different disciplines, and contribute to a teamwide culture of learning and development.
Minimum Qualification
- 3+ years experience leading platform and development tools such as integration pipelines, analytics, performance profilers and version control.
- 2+ years experience as part of a team that builds and launches VR consumer technology products.
- 2+ years experience in a technical lead role leading at all levels of engineering (crafting vision and strategy, creating software, collaborating to resolve bugs, setting up team workflows, road mapping, prioritization, etc.) and continued commitment to co-lead such cross-disciplinary work on our growing team.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with the Oculus VR technology stack and Quest 2.
- Demonstrated experience working within interdisciplinary teams.
- 2+ years of experience as a leader of external-facing engineering collaborations.
- Familiarity with the development lifecycle for creative products (games, simulations, experiences, etc.), and related disciplines.
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
