The Facebook Reality Labs group brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software and content. We are building the tools and experiences that make people feel closer together. This includes Oculus and Portal products, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). We are looking for an experienced Social Marketing Lead to build and lead a team that specializes in driving growth, storytelling, and engagement on our newly formed AR marcom team. The Social Marketing Manager will build the global social strategy from the ground up for our AR brand. They will lead cross-functional work in collaboration with internal teams and agency partners to develop social media strategies, content, and also leading our community management efforts. We are looking for a strategic and creative leader who has a strong social background delivering best in class work that has had an impact in culture. In this position, you will lead a team that will develop and define the people, processes and tools needed to deliver best-in-class social marketing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the social media brand strategy, with a focus to deliver creative social-first content to increase brand awareness and engagement across our social channels.
- Mentor, encourage and guide the team to build new concepts that elevate the brand, are culturally relevant and deliver results.
- Pioneer our AR global social strategy and engage followers across channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit.
- Establish and develop a narrative around the business impact of critical metrics for social media and communicate back monthly to the business.
- Drive budget and execution of marketing initiatives through content storytelling, ensuring a consistent brand message that is channel relevant across multiple consumer touch points.
- Create innovative platform specific strategies and content and drive the editorial calendar to support/execute campaigns and evergreen content across key channels, ensuring our work adheres to brand guidelines.
- Develop a strategic playbook on ways to use external agencies and content creators to improve impact and efficiencies.
- Maintain cross-functional alignment, clear communication, flawless integration and timely execution of programs with internal leadership.
- Amplify Facebook Reality Labs’s influencer programs and press opportunities in an effort to engage new and existing audiences.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop innovative and differentiated social content (e.g. Product Marketing, Creative, Sales, Performance Marketing, Brand Strategy and Comms).
- Collaborate with paid media team to design on-platform paid social strategies and tactics.
- Continually explore new channels for Facebook Reality Labs to use to grow our social media reach.
Minimum Qualification
- 10+ years of leadership experience in social media and marketing roles within global consumer product categories and brands such as consumer tech, fashion, entertainment or culture.
- Experienced leader with a vision in the social media space that identifies new trends which fuel innovative content development.
- Creatively-minded, conceptual and strategic problem solver with experience influencing across an organization.
- Ultimate collaborator who enrolls leaders from across the organization to develop campaigns that are on-brand and adhere to Facebook Reality Labs’s guidelines and policies.
- Experience leading agency partners/in-house creative and inspiring them to make the best work for our social channels.
- Articulate in communication - experience simplifying complex things into human understanding.
- Understanding of behavioral and technology trends in the social space.
- Possesses proactive and results-oriented mentality, delivering forward-thinking consumer centric initiatives, while behaving with integrity and speed.
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent marketing experience
- Experience in highly innovative consumer product categories and brands such as consumer tech and/or AR/VR technologies, fashion, entertainment or culture brands
