Dreamscape, a location-based virtual reality company, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, manage, and implement various automated solutions relating to infrastructure, web applications, locally deployed code, and AWS cloud services. Work closely with developers and vendors to achieve automation goals for a growing fleet of global, Location-Based VR sites remotely or on-site as needed.


Responsibilities:


  • Part of a team, architect and implement solutions that solve complicated application challenges focusing on performance, scaling, and security
  • Manage, Monitor designed Operational, Critical solutions
  • Work to design and automate anything that can be automated
  • Assist in decisions related to infrastructure or code
  • Install, integrate, and maintain productivity tools to support the software development teams (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Jira, source control, etc.)
  • Instrument monitoring solutions to gain insight into application performance and understand emerging issues
  • Assist in writing and maintaining excellent documentation
  • Participate in on-call, remote, or on-site support and maintenance activities as needed
  • Refine processes to develop a culture of quality, responsiveness, and high availability


Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience
  • 5+ years working DevOps in an operational environment
  • Must be willing to work in our Culver City offices
  • Ability to design full architecture based on a list of requirements
  • Self-starter – able to take project ownership and thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Extensive Experience with software: Jenkins, Chef, Logstash, Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with OSes: Windows, Linux, ESXi
  • Expert scripting skills using programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, PowerShell
  • Knowledge of PXE process, including custom init processes
  • AWS Experience in systems such as EC2, VPC, Load balancers, S3, RDS, Packer, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • Experience with High-Availability Database technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Extensive Experience with Monitoring Platforms such as Prometheus
  • Experience with OSes: Windows, Linux, ESXi
  • Experience with Workflow Support platforms such as Jira, Zendesk,
  • Knowledge of PXE process, including custom initialization processes, and technologies such as iSCSI, NFS, etc.
  • Understanding of middleware, proxies, and application integration
  • Understanding of networking (load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, SSL Certificates, etc.)
  • Excellent collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
