About the Role

As the Vice President of Product, you will turn our vision into a product strategy & roadmap that allows Altoida to continue to scale our impact. You are an experienced product owner with an unique ability to turn complex ideas into simple, straightforward user experiences. You’re also an exceptional people leader & manager who has built product teams in a cross functional, growth stage environment. Most importantly, you’re someone who is driven by our mission and excited to help people better access innovative technologies to improve health care outcomes.


Your Work at Altoida, Inc.

● Partner with other members of leadership to shape a strategic product roadmap that allows us to continue to scale our business and impact

● Create, maintain, and update Product Strategy

● Lead and partner with Design, Engineering & other teams across the organization to ensure we’re aligned on our goals and building the right products for our customers

● Lead the creation of straightforward, simple, and uncomplicated user experiences for our users in an industry that is not historically known for being simple

● Turn ideas and concepts into a set of requirements by writing user stories for the development team to consume and develop.

● Ensuring that we’re optimizing the way we ideate and deliver on new products and features, focusing on building the right products with continuous improvement

● Build an exceptional team of Product Managers & Designers that allow us to deliver new products & features to our users at a high velocity without sacrificing quality

● Build a culture of action, ownership and learning

● Partner with Product Development and Project Management to develop key milestones, project budgets and timelines

● Drive alignment across R&D teams with a strong level of partnership, empowerment and collaboration

● Anticipate potential opportunities, hurdles or issues and proactively manage to maximize opportunity and/or minimize risk

● Work closely with the CTO to assess the significance and potential product impact (opportunity/risk) based on the scientific data and recommend changes as required

● In collaboration with Marketing, approve all external information on the product/brand (including publications, inclusions in clinical trials registers etc)

● Manage and protect the intellectual property assets of the brand in consultation with IP and legal specialists


About You:

● Experience as a Product leader with a mix of owning product roadmaps and building teams of Product Managers and Designers

● A strong track record of delivering products that create value for customers/users

● Experience in successfully translating a vision into a product strategy, roadmap, and user stories

● Strong intuition around culture and how to hire people who align with our operating principles

● An ability to turn complex problems and ideas into simple user experiences

● A desire to be a builder rather than optimize, someone who is motivated by building teams and products from an early stage

● A desire to continuously learn and grow, ideally someone who isn’t afraid to take risks and knows how to learn from failures to always be improving

● A burning desire to be a part of the change in healthcare by helping people better access and afford care


Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field with 10 years of experience in product/project management and development; biotechnology/pharmaceutical field a plus.

● Experience consolidating and communicating the strategic direction for products/project teams, linking together objectives and development goals from each area within R&D (Pipeline Research, Preclinical Research, Bio/Analytical Development and Process Development)

● Awareness of business context and priorities and the ability to think, plan and act strategically

● Previous experience in a leadership role in the delivery to market of significant device development projects (eg PMA, De Novo, 510k)

● First hand experience of risk assessment and issues management

● Strong interpersonal, oral and communication skills

● Strong scientific and analytical skills

● Comprehensive understanding of biotech product planning, and regulatory environment

Full-time salary range is commensurate with experience.


Location:

Altoida’s US headquarters is located in Washington, DC. The position is remote eligible, with minor travel expected.
