Facebook is looking for a Device Communications Manager to join it's Facebook Reality Labs Communications Team. This person will be a member of the team that leads communications for Facebook’s AR, VR and consumer hardware, including Oculus and Portal.
In this role, you will lead the strategic communications for FRL’s hardware supply chain, manufacturing and distribution teams, provide FRL device leadership executive communications as well as lead diversity, equity and inclusion communications for FRL. This individual will work closel<![CDATA[Facebook We are seeking an experienced Technology Communications Associate Manager to join the Facebook New Product Experimentation’s (NPE) communications team. As a member, you will own external and internal communications workstreams showing how NPE is building for the hardest to reach people, often underrepresented or overlooked. You’ll work cross-functionally to communicate with journalists and other thought leaders, devise campaigns and materials, lead face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers, demonstrate strong 0-1 product communications strategy, and own internal communications for programs like company hackathons.
We're looking for a strategic communicator who can understand complex issues and explain them clearly in person and in writing. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives as a member of a tightly coordinated team, is comfortable moving between ambiguity and clarity, and is inspired to communicate about how Facebook innovates for underrepresented people.
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage internal and external communications for NPE with a focus on building for young, urban communities, new incubations, and company hackathons.
- Help drive messaging and narrative development for NPE, including writing blog posts, press statements, social posts etc.
- Work cross-functionally with partners like marketing, product, policy, legal, privacy, and engineering to refine communications in a consistent message that tells strong stories.
- Engage with reporters, editors, and other influencers to showcase Facebook's leadership in innovation.
- Partner with Head of NPE Communications to inform broader corporate and executive communications strategies.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or related field.
- 4+ years of work experience in external communications or media relation.
- Experience with media relations across tech, business, and consumer publications.
- Experience drafting narratives and working with executives.
Preferred Qualification
- Knowledge and excitement for technology.
- Experience in PR/Communications for a VC, startup, or agency.
