The Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) group brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We are building the tools and experiences that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. This includes Oculus and Portal products, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). We are seeking an Integrated Communications Strategy Manager to join our Oculus Integrated Communications Strategy (ICS) team. This role is responsible for Integrated Communications Strategy of consumer-facing campaigns for Oculus in North America. The ICS Manager will help drive innovative and fresh communications strategies and tactics, while maintaining a consistent brand across audience/consumer touch points. ICS Managers will manage the campaign strategy for outbound marketing communications including ecosystem strategy, messaging frameworks, media planning (paid media partnerships, outbound paid media) and its impacts on shared, owned, and earned communications. In addition, ICS Managers will work closely with internal creative and external agency teams to ensure a communications platform is properly integrated across the channels to deliver on Oculus communications tasks. Our team has the responsibility for taking breakthrough concepts and delivering them to market at scale. The AR Product Hardware team actively participates in concept development and design ideation of cutting-edge technologies. The team is responsible for rapidly building and iterating polished high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms that bring new ideas to life by expressing design intent and user experience - using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task. As a Product Systems Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering results from multiple areas of the product stack including systems integration functional testing, EE/PD/FW functional testing, and new feature testing. You will work across selected domains across coexistence, stress, power, audio, display, camera, connectivity, etc. You will also have the opportunity to organize validation efforts efficiently and report status to the team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Hardware Validation and Performance Characterization by developing and executing comprehensive test plans for each program at every phase
  • Develop hardware and software solutions for systems testing platforms
  • Defining and providing verification infrastructures
  • Planning and tracking of validation tasks
  • Work to ensure alignment of validation and characterization plans by closely working with product teams such as Systems Integration Leads and EE/PD/FW design teams
  • Review, analyze and report verification results to provide expert root cause and corrective action support to resolve any and all issues found
  • Track validation progress, present data, draft whitepapers, and represent status at milestone reviews
  • Plan and budget lab equipment needs to ensure we have the capability to measure and debug all interfaces and technologies
  • Manage interaction with third party test labs and contract manufacturing partners
  • Participate in design reviews and make recommendations to support validation strategy
  • Debugging and analysis of issues found during verification phases
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience in systems validation or systems engineering for consumer electronics products.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, Python or C/C++ programming experience.
  • Experience in consumer electronics or related fields, with understanding of overall hardware system architecture common to consumer electronics products.
  • Understanding of system development and verification testing methods and concepts for full-stack systems validation of devices.
  • Interpersonal skills and experience indirectly managing and driving various cross-functional team members (EE, SW, RF, Audio, PD, etc.).
Preferred Qualification
  • Master of Science or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in systems validation or systems engineering for consumer electronics products
  • Experience with setting up, handling stability test racks and test campaign
  • Experience with coexistence and stress rack testing
  • Experience interacting with test equipment vendors and knowledge of state-of-the-art test equipment
  • Experience managing lab equipment selection and budgeting to support next-generation interface protocols
