We are looking for an exceptional home-based Senior Sales Territory Manager in either the Mid-Atlantic or New England territory who will support the development of new accounts as well as expanding existing accounts. You will identify business opportunities, meet customer needs, promote the brand, product offerings and capabilities for our Ophir Instruments product line consisting of beam profilers and power meters. The Senior Sales Territory Manager will develop and maintain relationships with customers and accounts in the New England Territory and/or named accounts.

  • Identify new opportunities, applications, segments, and markets for products and capabilities. You will do this by getting to know our products and capabilities and by recognizing market and customer dynamics and drivers
  • Build solid relationships with customers at multiple levels in the organization and with internal functional groups
  • Work as a team with other MKS Sales Territory Managers to grow total business
  • Demonstrate the products at customer sites
  • Develop and execute strategies for territory and specific accounts and provide accurate orders forecast to Sales Management
  • Attend tradeshows, conferences and make other visits (up to 30% travel)
  • Manage and maintain orders pipeline and opportunities in Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Identify, collect, and disseminate sales best practices, customer requirements, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement of business

What will you bring to the team is:


  • Bachelor's degree in Photonics-related field (Physics, Engineering, Applied Science)
  • Six (6) years of demonstrated success in a customer facing role
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in previous assignments and a track record of compliance with sales policy and related regulations
  • Ability to think critically, troubleshoot and solve problems with confidence
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment and/or lasers
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management, and exceptional communication skills
  • Skillful negotiating
