Principal Product Owner
The Digital Experience Solutions Product team is part of ALSACx, whose mission is to inspire future generations of donors and supporters. The DES Product team believes we can deliver valuable solutions that compel our supporters - both known and unknown - to engage with our mission where they are and in their own way. You will join a team working across the enterprise and the industry landscape to bring the St. Jude mission to life by exploring and harnessing emerging technologies to enhance and differentiate our storytelling capabilities.
As the Principal Product Owner, you will focus on the strategic and operational direction of the newly-launched Immersive Experiences Studio. You will constantly take on new challenges at different levels of fidelity, from proof-of-concept through to production-level experiences. By leading overall data-driven prioritization of new and existing experiences as well as identifying new opportunities, you will pioneer storytelling capabilities in a variety of mediums. Through strategic exploration of the latest technology in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (XR/MR), 3D worlds, and diverse digital experiences you will create the roadmap that brings our audiences closer to the mission of St. Jude. You will work with internal and external teams specializing in technology, content creation, marketing, design, and more to understand audience needs, build & prioritize audience-led hypotheses for new experiences, and evangelize the vision of the Immersive Experiences Studio across the enterprise.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- This role requires someone who is comfortable balancing constant exploration and validation of new ideas as well as the cultivation of scalable product capabilities.
- Be open to feedback and willing to adapt your work to meet the needs of the team.
- Experience working in a multi-platform or startup product environment is a plus
- Required Extensive knowledge of both business and technical disciplines with the ability to view needs from an enterprise perspective.
- Experience with technical software delivery methodologies (i.e. Scrum, Agile, Waterfall, etc), process engineering, change management practices or business management methodologies
- Excellent communications skills and experience communicating effectively with diverse audiences, translating between business requests and technical needs. Able to facilitate and resolve disagreements over scope, design, and requirements.
- Extensive understanding of current technology offerings and the ability to stay current with emerging digital trends such as: search tools, search providers, web analytics, content management systems, fundraising applications, ecommerce and multimedia tools.
- Has a strong understanding of testing, mobile, and personalization and their ability to enhance products.
- Ability to lead others through change in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with rapidly changing technology.
- Experience with analytics software such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
- Requires knowledge ordinarily acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 years of digital campaign management or product management, including 2 years in a lead role.
