At Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Optical Engineering Manager to lead one of the best optical development teams in the world. Your team will design and develop imaging optics or display systems for FRL Hardware products. All of your work will change the landscape of capabilities of virtual reality and augmented reality hardware through a close collaboration with both internal and external partners.
Silicon test engineering applies a high-level skill and knowledge of SOC, silicon focused modules in designing and deploying manufacturing test solutions. You will drive the development and qualification of hardware test systems with manufacturing partners and third-party integrators. You will be leading in troubleshooting station hardware/software issues on test equipment and systems. The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual working in a cross-functional team environment and will enforce manufacturability, testability and ensure cost-effective designs are implemented for testing and automation systems, software, and equipment. This position will have responsibilities for in both NPI test development and sustaining support of production.
Responsibilities
- Manage, build and mentor a world-class optical engineering team for imaging optics or display system product and technology development.
- Lead the team in developing new technologies, prototypes and drive the technology and prod<![CDATA[Facebook
- Develop, deploy and qualify test and calibration factory stations for SoC, backplanes, CIS, PMIC and silicon focused modules.
- Develops test specifications, procedures, and debug guides for test solutions.
- Drive cross-functional decisions on test development and specifications.
- Collaborate with silicon design and engineering partners to transition test development processes into scalable, reliable and cost effectives mass productions.
- Troubleshoot and debugging test systems and automation solutions from both software and hardware perspectives.
- Coordinate and manage third-party vendors in designing, fabricating and developing test systems.
- Domestic and international travel required for collaboration with design teams and product build support.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 8+ years of people management experience managing technical teams.
- 5+ years of experience in mixed signal and digital ATE testing for wafer sort, final test, hardware development and product sustaining support.
- Direct experience working with wafer level, Optics or RF package development, SIP (system in package) product development.
- Experience with development of automation tools using C++, JAVA, PERL or python programming languages.
- Experience in new product transition from design phase into high volume manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualification
- Master/Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Experience with networking and inputting protocols including OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, LAN/WAN, JTAG, MIPI, UART systems.
- Experience in all aspects of silicon bring up from hardware development, silicon debug, silicon design characterization, Design for Test(DFT), qualification and release to production.
- Experience with firmware deployment and troubleshooting and collaboration with engineering partners.
