Product Management Director, XR Tech

Employer

Job Description

Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.

At XR Tech, we envision a future where billions of people around the world use augmented and virtual reality to gain superpowers that enhance how they experience the world around them, and connect with each other in ways that feel authentic and natural, whenever they want and no matter where they are. We accomplish this through the Perception Platform - a set of machine perception services and technologies on which developers can build innovative and engaging augmented and virtual reality products and applications. This role focuses on the Mapping and Spatial capabilities of the Perception Platform. These capabilities enable virtual content to be overlaid and persisted on top of the real world, allow users to participate in co-located shared virtual experiences with realistic physical interactivity, and make it possible for people to teleport to anywhere in the world. The team works to understand and predict product needs on a 5+ year horizon and invest in new technical innovations (NTI), while also working to bring mature innovations into shipping products via new product integrations (NPI). In this role, the Product Management Director must be able to help define strategies for large, ambiguous areas and lead cross functional teams (including executive stakeholders and partners teams) from ideation to measurable product impact.

  • Integrate insights gained from usability studies, research and market analysis into requirements to enhance developer and user satisfaction.
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.
