Minimum qualifications:
  • Master's degree in vision science, neuroscience, experimental psychology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with human factors experimentation/testing and study design

Preferred qualifications:
  • PhD in Vision Science, Neuroscience, or Experimental Psychology
  • More than one publication in a scientific journal in vision, displays, neuroscience, or related fields
  • 3 years of experience in data analysis and visualization using Python or MATLAB, and working with immersive display technology
  • 3 years of experience in applying image processing routines and other metrology techniques to compute image quality attributes, including sharpness, color shift, uniformity, motion blur, and distortion
  • 3 years of experience with display imaging pipelines (how different displays convert image data into light)

As the Applied Vision Engineer, you will work with an interdisciplinary group of engineers, UX researchers, and Product Managers to understand core requirements, set attainable goals that can be achieved in a product, and make predictions on the experiences throughout the development cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize imaging systems within hardware for visual and perceptual quality.
  • Develop, document, and validate key metrics for display performance and visual quality that can be used for component sourcing.
  • Work with emulation platforms and test equipment to validate hardware and software.
  • Work on a cross-functional team of mechanical, electrical, UX, and optical engineers to design display and imaging hardware.
