Job Title:                         Reality Labs - Technical Writer (VR / XR / immersive media space)

Location:                        SF Bay Area / Los Angeles (remote)

Duration:                         12 Months (Possible extension)

Job Description:

Seeking a Technical Writer with experience in the VR / XR / immersive media space. The Immersive Media team works with both internal and external production studios who are paving the way for the future of media. You will be part of a team responsible for the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of content, for both internal and external audiences. You will do hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts while translating it into clear, concise, structured documentation. In addition, you may also have opportunities to do XR production and project management for various documentation requests.

Technical Writer / XR Production Responsibilities

• Create and maintain internal and external documentation for technologies and tools used within the XR space (focused on immersive media for VR)
• Work closely with content and studios teams to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content you create and develop.
• Design, write and edit technical and production process documentation.
• Create, document, and maintain production technique examples and sample media.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in writing, technical documentation, and/or production in a studio environment, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in or adjacent to immersive media production.
• Demonstrated experience in comprehensive technical documentation, proofreading, and editing
• Experience independently defining and driving technical documentation projects.
• Experience with authoring tools such as XML, HTML, Markdown, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience producing and organizing content with a logical flow.
• Experience in video content creation.
• Experience meeting multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in immersive video content creation, specifically for VR headsets
