The department of Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) in the John Chambers College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for a Director of the Wehrle Global Supply Chain Lab beginning in the Spring semester of 2022 semester 2022.
The primary areas of responsibility are service (70%) teaching (20%) and research (10%). These courses would be across undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face, online, or hybrid).

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has attained a graduate degree in business or engineering in the area of data science or the closely related fields of operations management, supply chain management industrial engineering or computer science. A Ph.D. in these areas is preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to engage with senior management from a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations to promote the activities and the mission of the Lab. All candidates must have a portfolio or demonstrate and ability to develop virtual reality and augmented reality (AR/VR) content that can complement the GSCM curricula in the undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs, which will include both certifications as well as executive education.
The primary responsibility of the Lab Director will include working as part of the GSCM faculty to achieve the mission and vision of the Wehrle Global Supply Chain Lab and thereby enhance the educational, service and research efforts of the GSCM program in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at WVU. To achieve the mission and vision the Lab Director’s duties will include but not be limited to the following activities:
Candidates are preferred to have expertise in data analytics particularly working with big data in open source applications or industry experience in supply chain management focused on data science or operations working with “big data” in an Industry 4.0, digitally-enabled supply chain environment. A proficiency or familiarity with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) is a plus. The ideal candidate has some management experience in roles such as senior data scientist or senior operations manager. However, candidates with lesser experience will be vetted on the basis of their proficiency and expertise in the skills being sought. College teaching experience is a plus.
As part of the lab focus on the digitally enabled supply chain to support Industry 4.0 the lab programmatic content will include AR/VR and additive manufacturing facilities. Example activities include but are not restricted to:
