Position: Editor

Groove Jones is a creative technology company that produces next-generation experiences for world-class brands. We are best known for our award-winning work in AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), ML (Machine Learning), and AI (Artificial Intelligence) Application development. 

We’re currently accepting resumes and portfolios for Editor. This person enjoys crafting stories and considers themselves proficient in multiple editing and visual design software, which may include - Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop. They will assist with many aspects of production, including editorial, media management, transcoding, stitching 360° footage.  Managing 360° stereoscopic footage and telling stories in 360° is a plus!

The right candidate should enjoy working in a collaborative environment, they should be organized and have an eye for detail.  They should also have an insatiable appetite to research, learn and test their knowledge and skills to build things that haven’t been done before! This role should have a working knowledge of visual effects and compositing pipeline. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of art, design, video pipelines and workflow, compression, and file management. The Editor will assist various creative teams in organizing, editing, coloring, compositing, and creating interactive experiences 

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Film, Animation, Visual Studies or similar
• Qualified candidates should have 3-5 years of video editing experience
• Outstanding collaboration, conceptual, artistic and technical skills
• The ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience working from a server with other editors
• Advanced knowledge of video filetypes, compression, and filesystems
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve
• Experience editing 360°/stereoscopic footage - Preferably has “stitched” 360 footage in Mystika or other compositing program
• Passionate about AR & VR
• Experience with Nuke X and Nuke Studio is a plus
