Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.
BigBox VR’s mission is to combine platform-defining games, social communities, and competitive play to create a VR esport ecosystem. Population One, the studio’s most recent title, has quickly become a global success that is defining the future of social gaming in VR. To date, BigBox VR’s success has been achieved with limited marketing. In this role, we’re looking to establish a new marketing function that scales BigBox VR titles into famous franchises. As the first marketing hire, this person will be responsible for partnering with the wider BigBox VR team to define the marketing strategy and to lead campaigns that grow the brand, acquire new players, and engage the existing community. The right candidate will have a proven track record as a marketing generalist, of being a self-starter, and building a range of new marketing programs (integrated campaigns, owned/paid social, influencer marketing, partnerships, brand strategy) from the ground up. Additionally, marketing and product at BigBox are inherently linked. The ideal candidate will build strong working relationships with the wider Product team to ensure that game data informs marketing activity, and that product and marketing strategies are closely coordinated.
Responsibilities
- This team doesn’t exist today, and there’s no marketing playbook to hand off. You’ll be responsible for partnering closely with the wider BigBox VR team to develop the marketing strategy and supporting initiatives that help grow the overall business. This will include work to establish brand strategy for titles, drive acquisition amongst new audiences, as well as growing engagement with the existing community.
- As the first marketing hire, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of marketing activities including owned/paid social, integrated campaigns, CRM, influencer marketing, partnerships, and more. - Partner with Marketing Analytics to understand the effectiveness of marketing activities and utilize lessons to inform future work. Additionally, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the BigBox VR product team to ensure sales and in-game data is used to inform new opportunities and marketing strategies.
- Work closely with the broader Oculus marketing team to inform marketing plans for the Oculus brand.
