Position Description:

We are seeking an Extended Reality (XR) Specialist to join the Media Production Division of the Corporate Communication Support Department.

The Media Production Division is responsible for developing high quality, creative audio-visual content that promotes Saudi Aramco and its affiliates to internal and external stakeholders around the world. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of high-quality event films, internal communications videos, social media content, promotional films, documentaries as well as Extended Reality experiences and solutions (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality).

The Extended Reality Specialist’s primary role is to work within the Media Production Extended Reality Unit, working in multi-disciplinary agile team constellations to develop concepts and implementations of immersive XR, VR and AR experiences and solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in in Architecture, Design, Art, Computer Science, Media Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is not essential, but is preferred.

You will have ten years’ experience as creative technologist in the 3D real-time graphics visualization and virtual reality industry, including at least five in a role as a senior real-time graphics specialist.

You will have a detailed CV / resume outlining your professional history, including clients and previous projects completed.

You will be able to demonstrate your creative conception and production abilities through either previous work samples, demo applications or showreel.

You must have an extensive understanding of 3D real-time visualization and extended reality solutions, including a wide range of technology platforms and output channels.

You must have professional grade knowledge of the leading platforms for interactive real-time content, such as Unity3D or Unreal Engine, as well as a deep understanding of target platforms and devices incl. their target render pipelines, such as VR headsets, personal computers, mobile devices, utilizing local and remote rendering. Experience with software development, scripting and coding is preferred (C#, Python, Java).

You will be able to demonstrate a profound understanding of content creation and iterative prototype development for 3D real-time applications and immersive XR solutions following state-of-the-art spatial interaction and design concepts.

Experience in developing multi-user interaction concepts, application logic and state engine systems for XR solutions as well as experience with implementing concepts of multi-modal interaction, natural interaction systems, natural language processing and gesture recognition is preferred.

Experience with agile development principles, methods and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, etc. is a requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be required to perform the following:

Develop concepts for Extended Reality (XR) solutions including, but not limited to user experience, interaction principles and design, virtual space design and optimization for real-time graphics, backend system integration, as well as integration of external cloud services. Develop concepts for system architectures and topologies, software architectures and hardware architectures.

Conceptualize and develop user stories describing and defining the functionalities of XR solutions and experiences from a system user perspective. Conceptualize and develop the interaction principles and user experience for the respective user stories and the related environment interaction.

Design, review and maintain functional specifications, concept sketches and diagrams as well as wireframes. Develop multi-user interaction concepts, application logic and state engine systems for XR, VR and AR solutions.

Implement immersive XR solutions following state-of-the-art spatial design and interaction principles in order to deliver engaging and intuitive XR experiences. As part of a multi-disciplinary team develop 3D real-time applications and solutions utilizing prototyping and iterative implementation cycles. Assess and optimize application performance and quality for different target platform based on deep understanding of modern real-time render pipelines and graphics hardware.

Evaluate, integrate and optimize interfaces for XR multiuser collaboration and communication solutions.

Work under supervision of the MPD Extended Reality (XR) Group Leader or the assigned project manager. Support and develop junior production staff in line with Division needs.
