This position is a key part of a team responsible for translating Beta’s vision of eVTOL flight, charging infrastructure and Simulation into reality. The Sr Alias Modeler and Visualizer will support modeling and visualisation functions on Industrial Design projects to develop best-in-class, manufacturable solutions in line with BETA emerging design DNA. This role will interface with designers, tool makers, fabricators, engineers, program managers, and suppliers – ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned. Exceptional modeling, rendering, animation, virtual-reality and verbal communication skills will be employed. This position is part of a growing BETA Industrial Design team within the OEM that serves the wider organisation as an internal consulting agency.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Model, in Alias, concepts and Class-A tooling surfaces.
- Render, Animate and author VR simulations of Aircraft, Charging Infrastructure, and Simulators
- Author complex 3d assets for communication of design variants in VRED (Big screen and VR)
- Develop and maintain libraries of models, shaders, measured materials, and environments
- Import internal and external 3d/scan data, organising it in nodal structures for visualization
- Check concept and final release data IN and OUT of 3dX
- Communicate with excellent written, visual and verbal skill, with both internal & external customers.
- Maintain high energy, while being self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
- 5+ years of Alias experience in a transportation-related field
- 3+ years of Visualisation experience in a transportation related field (VRED preferred)
- Experience with VR/XR synchronized with physical mockups (VRED VR / VIVE preferred)
- Proven creative eye for lighting, materials, renderings and animations (provide portfolio)
- 3D skills in other modeling & visualization tools a plus ( Dynamo, Alias Sub-D, Maya, etc)
- Experience working on fully industrialized vehicle projects and tooling releases a plus
- Experience with additive manufacturing and composite tool surfacing a plus
- Experience as a 3D gaming artist is a plus.
