At Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager to join our team, whose mission is creating the future of input and interaction for AR and VR. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience with privacy for large-scale engineering infrastructure programs or product development and who can work across a team of engineers, privacy, security, compliance and legal partners, and product managers to help the team deliver novel developments in neural interfaces. As a Technical Program Manager on the Engineering Infrastructure and Privacy team, you'll lead a groundbreaking team to ensure users and developers are safe and delighted with their experiences across our platforms, devices, companion apps, app ecosystem, and more. You'll have the chance to work with many teams (e.g. product development, infrastructure, automation, research, production engineering) across Facebook Reality Labs and Facebook. The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management or engineering Infrastructure management or privacy background, will have demonstrated experience leading large initiatives across multiple software and hardware teams. The ideal candidate will share our passion for engineering solutions that make privacy easy, improve user trust and internal data clarity.
Responsibilities
- Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your program.
- Drive multiple engineering infrastructure projects and product initiatives.
- Work with engineering and privacy teams to define and revise the long-term strategy, roadmaps and end-to-end project plans for the AR Infrastructure and privacy programs.
- Design and implement systems that enhance the privacy and security of products and infrastructure.
- Provide privacy guidance to new projects and initiatives.
- Communicate privacy decisions to the broader cross-functional team, and ensure that those decisions are properly implemented.
- Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.
- Work with engineering to ensure what we build has the right balance of cost vs. benefit, and focuses on addressing the highest priority partner team and customer needs.
Minimum Qualification
- 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager managing software programs from inception to production.
- Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery.
- Experience building systems and processes for user privacy and security.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience applying fundamental security or privacy concepts to large scale systems.
- Experience developing software roadmaps for complex consumer hardware products.
- Communication and interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team.
- Knowledge of software development processes and best practices.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience designing and implementing systems for data audit and analysis.
- Experience designing and implementing systems that enforce privacy compliance.
- Experience advocating for technical privacy solutions across functional domains.
