The GRIP-DS intern will be primarily focused on extending the current functionality of the tools used by Get Real. Interns will assist the Get Real management team in the design, development, and implementation of the Get Real Technology platform. Interns will follow industry best practices including continuous improvement through code reviews of existing and new code. GRIP-DS interns will also be responsible for meeting with Get Real team members on a regular basis to discuss progress on current projects.
At times GRIP-DS interns will be expected to actively participate in company-wide meetings and forums and will gain secondary exposure to Get Real’s business and clients in areas such as Training and Education, Virtual Office design, Large and Small group collaboration, not for profit storytelling and/or real estate marketing.

Get Real Internship Program (GRIP)
The Get Real Internship Program (GRIP)is designed to provide real world job experience to students with a passion for working with Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and other immersive technologies. The GRIP will be managed remotely by the Get Real management team, using commonly available videoconference and VR-based collaboration platforms. All GRIP interns will have opportunities to interact with Get Real’s business, including but not limited to:
GRIP interns will begin their time with an orientation process involving assigned reading materials and breakout discussions designed to gain a basic understanding of the uses of VR/AR technologies for business. Also included in this orientation, will be a series of VR experiences, delivered by headset, geared towards developing a common level of understanding of VR technology, and specific use cases of software used by Get Real.
Work assignments and expectations for completed projects will be communicated regularly with GRIP interns via weekly/biweekly group meetings held in VR, Videoconference, or similar collaborative platform.
GRIP interns will receive informal feedback on their performance and progress throughout their time at Get Real, with additional formal feedback communicated via monthly check-ins with Get Real management. These formal sessions will also provide GRIP interns the opportunity to provide feedback on the company, their experiences to date, ask additional questions, etc.
GRIP will last for a period of 12 weeks. GRIP interns will be expected to commit approximately 8 to 12 hours per week to activities related to their specific role at Get Real.
