Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in the marketing industry
  • Experience in the technology and augmented reality industries

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience shaping business roadmaps and marketing plans through deep consumer understanding, actionable insights, and sound recommendations
  • Experience in branding, messaging, marketing plan development, and product launches
  • Ability to influence all levels and work effectively across functions
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects or workstreams
  • Personal interest in consumer electronics and/or wearable technology

About The Job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

In this role, you'll work with insights, consumer, Go-To-Market (GTM), and product teams, and UX researchers to develop and launch products. You will work across the rapidly growing category of wearable hardware products and augmented reality (AR).

From partnering with product management, UX, and software teams to understanding the market landscape and driving toward successful product market fit, you will help establish and launch products that further Google’s offerings in the hardware space. You will work closely with all marketing functions to ensure positioning and messaging consistency from ideation to final GTM plan execution.

Responsibilities

  • Generate user insights and inform product definition/development in close collaboration with insights, product management, and engineering teams
  • Be a subject-matter expert on the market landscape, and share that knowledge cross-functionally through competitive analyses
  • Define product positioning and drive thought leadership in narrative
  • Solve strategic marketing challenges (e.g., branding, product naming, feature messaging)
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and impactful communication across channels for all go-to-market activities (e.g., our online store, retailers, carriers, marketing campaigns)
