Job Description

SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced and creative interactive art director to help guide the creation of vibrant new digital products, including websites, mobile apps, digital signage, interactive kiosks, augmented reality, and other initiatives. 

 

In this full-time position, you will lead and evaluate the work of a team of web and UX designers to improve user experience of websites, apps, and other digital products. You will use data and best practices to improve campaign conversions through design, meet deadlines and communicate delays or complications in a timely manner, and collaborate with the development team to solve for responsiveness and web accessibility. You will work with designers and department leaders to translate strategy, information architecture, wireframes, and business goals into production-ready assets with attention to detail and creativity. As an interactive art director, you will also collaborate with other interactive services leadership, project managers, developers, and content managers to envision and deploy new projects and evolve a diverse existing portfolio, as well as coordinate with leadership to devise schedules, policies, and procedures, among other duties.

 

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with an outstanding portfolio of previous professional interactive design initiatives that exhibit exceptional creative abilities, exemplary user experiences, and extensive design expertise with both websites and mobile applications. A proactive problem solver and excellent communicator, the candidate should know how to motivate and coordinate creative contributors to create exemplary interactive experiences for prospects, students, faculty, staff, and the public. Demonstrated experience with team leadership, planning, and collaboration is essential, and experience working augmented or virtual reality is a bonus. Familiarity with Agile workflow is also preferred.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of professional website and mobile application design experience
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustration, Sketch, XD, or other design tool
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, interactivity, web accessibility, and browser-platform compatibility
  • Experience in native app design, email design, and prototyping is preferred
