Position Summary:

The Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Core team is seeking a PLM Process Engineer in St. Louis, MO. This person will work with a team of Product Data Management (PDM) Engineers, Process engineers, Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers, as well as Business Architects, to support the development, deployment and adoption of MBE capabilities onto BDS products and programs. Our team provides tool and process support for the design and manufacturing engineers that use the PDM systems. We are also responsible for ensuring that the PDM systems meet current customer requirements and are updated as needed to support Boeing improvement initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the development of process and tool requirements for transitioning existing program activities to common digital enterprise systems and identification of gaps in both processes and tools
  • Engaging with program engineers to anticipate and resolve issues in preparation for the PDM system transition
  • Performing PDM system transition activities such as data migrations, data validation and system testing
  • Analysis of engineering data across applications to find issues and determine how to correct the data to ensure consistency
  • Coordinate with programs to understand engineering lifecycle capability needs to execute the program. This includes capabilities that crossover into PLM-MOM-ERP-MRO phases.
  • Coordinate with programs on MBE capability gaps, and develop MBE plans to address associated risks and issues.
  • Coordinate with programs to develop/execute MBE adoption plan associated the processes, tools, training, migration and integration requirements.
  • Coordinate with programs on establishing a baseline integrated business architecture
  • Coordinate with Business Unit and Enterprise teams on business architecture needs and MBE capabilities of programs, which would include architecture needs for Proprietary/Stand-Alone programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with visualization (VR, MR, AR) capabilities and systems considered

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience working with PDM system (TeamCenter).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience coordinating with engineering disciplines to determine best practices and implementing across multiple programs
  • Knowledge and experience with visualization (VR, MR, AR) capabilities and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with MBE elements (MBSE, MBD, MBPP, MBI)
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing (MOM) and supplier management (ERP) systems
  • Knowledge and experience in basic business architecture
  • Knowledge and experience in basic project management
  • Experience working with CAD systems (NX and/or CATIA)

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
