Responsibilities
  • Define the engineering strategy for the team both from a technical and a business front.
  • Manage and lead a rapidly growing team of amazing and proficient software engineers.
  • Partner with an industry-leading team of Engineers, Artists, Designers and Producers to deliver high-quality holographic experiences and code components that power our services and SDKs.
  • Work with state-of-the-art next generation hardware (HMDs, sensors) and software.
  • Incorporate the latest Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Computer Vision capabilities into the design of our Products and Services.
  • Contribute to the organizations’ priority initiatives including talent hiring, diversity and inclusion, people growth and development
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7 years' minimum experience in Software Design or Software Development
  • 3 years' minimum experience as a technical lead or people manager
  • 3 years' minimum experience with Unity, Unreal or related game engines

The Mixed reality Product Integrity team innovates and develops hardware and software test for products across the entire Mixed reality Devices portfolio.

Job Purpose

As a Senior Development Engineer, Product Integrity - Factory NPI & Process Validation, you will take a critical role in the development of new technologies, implementing new processes, and developing test methodologies for our Mixed reality product lines. The Product integrity team is responsible for overall product quality and alignment with customer expectations, including areas such as: Safety, EMC, Reliability, Power consumption, HW/SW validation and NPI & Factory validation.

The Factory NPI & Process validation team will drive flawless execution of NPI (New Product Introduction), manage evaluation builds, drive yields and test times, improve process flow and drive for continuous process improvement. This will be done in full coordination and cooperation with the Design Validation and Development teams.

As part of the Microsoft Mixed Reality Product Integrity Organization you will assist in developing and executing test plans and strategies for our next generation of Technologies and Products to create innovative products and experiences which lead the industry and create a loyal and rapidly growing fan base.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute and execute with a team of engineers who are responsible for implementing, deploying and maintaining our manufacturing lines.
  • Assist in driving Best-In-Class manufacturing KPI’s (Key Product Indicators). The KPI’s include Test Times, Yields, 1st pass yields, cycle times, Manufacturing Failure Analysis and DPM among others.
  • Partner with the test development and technology validation teams to enable DFx (Design for Test, Manufacturing, Debug etc).
  • Work closely with the Architecture team and Technology team to execute on test requirements for the next generation of user experience in MR.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with cross functional partner teams.
  • Maintain a commitment to Diversity and Inclusion across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience focusing on product validation - preferably with experience throughout the product lifecycle, from initial design to final product delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with international technology suppliers
  • General understanding of Mixed Reality and related technologies
  • Overall understanding of key test methodologies and processes involved with ASIC, electronics, mechanical and software design
  • Successful experience with developing products from concept to in-market launch
  • Experience shipping consumer products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading by influencing and working effectively across functions.
  • BS, or equivalent experience, in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping Complex Products (HW and SW).
  • Experience Leading multiple test teams for various sub-systems e.g., Camera, Display, Sensors, Wireless.
