We are looking for a skilled and motivated Research Science Manager to join our team, whose mission is to solve the human-centered optimization problem for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality devices and experiences. We are specifically looking for a candidate with passion in defining and building interactive technologies that solve real world problems and experience in leading and growing researchers.
Responsibilities
- Grow, lead, and nurture a team of applied researchers by supporting their career growth, well-being, and productivity.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across scientific, engineering, design disciplines within and across organizations to enable collaboration align on priorities.
- Set clear expectations and goals for direct reports and collective team while holding individuals and the team accountable to deliver research outcomes influencing the design of XR interaction devices and experiences.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and peers within the organization in the area of user experience and set strategic directions in collaboration with other functional leads.
- Conduct high quality experience-focused research for key strategic areas related to XR interactions.
Minimum Qualification
- Masters degree in the field of human computer interaction, psychology, human factors or a related field.
- 5+ years experience conducting applied research on interactive devices or systems.
- 3+ years experience owning the end-to-end research process of planning, recruiting, executing/facilitating, analyzing, and reporting the insights.
- Experience in leading an applied UX or relevant human-science research team in an industry setting.
Preferred Qualification
- Ph.D. in the field of human computer interaction, psychology, human factors or a related field.
- Experience in managing a team delivering UX research for the V1 interactive hardware product throughout the entire product development life cycle.
