Facebook Reality Labs Research (FRL-R) brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers with the shared goal of developing AR and VR across the spectrum. The charter of the Graphics Research group within FRL-R is to make exceptional consumer virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences targeting five to ten years out.We are currently seeking talented Research Scientists to help develop forward looking graphics pipelines for AR and VR, and solve the next generation of challenges in the visual computing space. The focus of this role is on computer graphics with the primary responsibility being the efficient synthesis of high-quality images, including leveraging and developing state of the art techniques. This full-time position requir<![CDATA[Facebook Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Facebook products into their mobile platforms, apps, devices as well as our AR/VR platforms. Partner Engineers bring deep technical knowledge of Android platforms to lead highly visible initiatives and launch impactful products with our strategic mobile partners. As an Android-focused engineer in Partnerships, you will engage, sometimes at a deep technical level, with some of the world's most influential companies to drive value across the Facebook family of apps; as well as for our strategic partners. The ideal candidate will combine technical and business skills to drive initiatives within Facebook, and make our partners successful.
Responsibilities
- Be a subject matter expert in relevant project/product and technology areas. Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross functional partners for product feedback
- Identify and surface insights using metrics on product usage to increase adoption and provide new solutions that address the needs of our partners
- Understand tools, concepts and processes related to Facebook family of apps, and underlying implementation
- Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and independently resolve complex technical and business needs while contributing to partner documentation
- Use expertise and product insight to deliver high-quality project/integration/partner engagements, while sustaining self-driven productivity
- Guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutions
- Respond and maintain effective communication with industry partners and internal stakeholders
- Work with partners to develop a long- term strategic plan, grounded on business objectives, and manage partners during feature launches
- Understand organizational structure and cross functional team dynamics and is able to get support from those teams as needed
- Build and manage strong working relationships with technical counterparts. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, creating positive atmosphere amongst team
Minimum Qualification
- 4+ years of industry experience - software engineering, technical consultancy or partner/sales engineering
- B.A/B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience
- Software development experience in languages and environments such as Java, Python and/or PHP
- Experience with Android app development
- Functional source control experience
- Experience with Git and knowledge of Mercurial
- Experience with command line, Unix/Linux environments and working toolchain knowledge
- Experience presenting to technical audiences
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with the Facebook platform and API
- Experience building and working with AOSP (Android Open Source Project) frameworks and Android testing frameworks such as CTS
- Experience with iOS app development
